Character name: Beyond Birthday/B
Fandom/series: Death Note: Another Note
Character age: Dunno. I'd say early 20s or late teens, though.
What point in their timeline?: After he has ded in his jail cell, killed by Kira's death note.
Abilities/powers: BB can speed-read, quite possibly has photographic memory (no, that's very likely a definite, even if not explicitly stated), and has Shinigami Eyes. Therefore, he can see the names and lifespans of everyone around him. He was born with Shinigami Eyes, no one knows why or how. He also knows quite well how to cover up his tracks, and he is also very good at making disguises (though his favorite 'disguise' is th eone he wears all the time, his appearance as an L doppelganger of sorts)
Personality: He has the same quirks as L (the slouching, sitting strangely, eating a lot of sugar [esp. jam], lack of blinking, biting at his thumbnail, and lacking manners in the eating department), except maybe being more paranoid and more thorough with cleanliness. He likes mocking the stupidity of the general populace, as all of his murder scenes contained hidden messages that would tell all who were investigating just where the next murder would occur, but were too hard for most people to find out without his help or L's. He has also been known to practice his laugh. Yes....as in, the laugh he would use once he won..Pretty much. Hey, maniacal laughs don't come naturally to everyone! Light's just gifted!
He is completely obsessed with L. Of course, having been raised in Whammy's house to be made into the next L, this obsession could be understandable...but he takes it a bit far, as described above. He seems to go to extremes to prove himself and he can be quite a troublemaker, in his own silent way. He is experimental and awkward, just as L is. He is cautious but definitely able to take risks. You could say he is very much like L while willing to kill outside of legal bounds.
Haibane Feather: -1; Light black, almost gray
History:Little is known about B, though him and A (real name unknown) were the first two children in line to succeed L. The pressure of Whammy's proved to be too great, though, and A committed suicide, while B wound up running away at some point.
His whereabouts remained unknown from May 2002 to the beginning of the story, L having tracked cases around the world to search for him. Beyond Birthday came up with a plan to surpass L, as the "World's Greatest Criminal", giving him a case that he would make sure he couldn't solve.
Beyond Birthday's first known victim was the freelance writer known as Believe Bridesmaid, whom he killed July 31st, 2002, after drugging and then asphyxiating him with a rope. Four Wara Ningyo (straw dolls) were left at the crime scene, and in post-mortem mutilation, Bridesmaid's chest had been slashed several times, the killer having taken the time to redress him as well. When looking at the autopsy photos, Naomi Misora found that the wounds were made to resemble letters (in actuality, a Roman Numeral code spelling out the name of the next victim).
The second murder happened four days later, on August 4th. The victim, Quarter Queen (a 13 year old girl), was also drugged before her death, the cause of which was blunt force trauma to her skull. Her eyes were also crushed in further post-mortem mutilation. Three Wara Ningyo were left at the scene of the crime.
The third killing happened nine days after Quarter Queen's murder. Backyard Bottomslash was a 28 year old bank worker, who had also been drugged before her death, though her age fell inbetween the previous two victims' (44 and 13) Her death was caused from loss of blood, with her right leg and left arm hacked off. Two Wara Ningyo were found nailed to the walls in a similar manner to the other two cases.
On August 22nd, Naomi arrived at the place that the next BB murder would be committed at, and came to realize that Rue Ryuzaki, the mysterious private investigator she had been working with, wasn't what he seemed. After having figured out several clues, she found that Ryuzaki was in fact Beyond Birthday, and that the final murder was actually his attempted suicide. She managed to stop B from burning himself to death, and arrested him.
Two years later, on January 21st 2004, Beyond Birthday died of a heart attack in prison, presumably one of the many criminals killed by Kira, but due to the unknown nature of his Shinigami eyes, could be the Death God that granted them. Though, I am going with Kira did so.

L, I heard of what happened between you and Kira. I have picked up as much information as possible about the happenings between you two before and after death. I doubt you wish for me to recount them to you, so I shall not.
I wanted to ask how much has gone on privately that I should know about? You know that I can find out through other means, but I would rather not intrude on your privacy.
As another note, know I do not wish to hurt you in any way. The only way I wish to overpower you is in mind, and you already knew that. I would much rather not do so in body, as Kira has done. Physical strength matters not to me. I wish to defeat both you and Kira, as is only to be expected. As he defeated you (which quite unsettles me), I can only go on to attempt beating you both.
I hope you will take up my challenge, and do so fairly by letting me know just what all I have missed that is not over open communications and/or is something Kira would not have told me about. Also, do not tell me anything you would not tell Kira. That would give me an unfair advantage.

Sample RP: ((This sample was from the same RP, in which I also played Light. So, just to make sure it's clear, due to the fact that I played both characters, I was not god-modding when writing this. I just want to make sure that's clear ^^; ))
His stare was quite unsettling, very much reminding him of another certain man he knew, except maybe with less menace and more curiosity. Besides, he had merely killed BB, but he had done so very much more to L.
Though, all that was done to L....could not be truly forgiven through BB's eyes.
He was with L. He touched L. He hurt L. He killed L. He beat L.
He BEAT L.
BB bit his thumbnail, staring at Light with a slightly jealous look.
Besides, beating L was supposed to be his job..not this...this...wannabe god! BB was supposed to beat L. BB was supposed to be the one who took L's place...and from what this man said, he had done so after killing the one true idol BB ever had. This man truly hurt L to gain his means...He killed L. He overpowered L! HE HURT L.
Beyond, in all his time of being alive, had never even had that thought cross his mind. He had wanted to beat L and prove he was his true successor...but not HURT him! NEVER hurt him!
But...to be able to do so...to be able to beat L and still continue going on as Kira...That must have taken a lot of skill, and there must have certainly been a great amount of brains involved. Brains and risk.
Exactly what kept BB from killing this man where he stood.
Despite having been killed by Kira, Beyond found this man to be admirable in what he had done. Not the 'cleansing' of the Earth. Not the rising to be a god. But, simply, the fact that he had truly defeated L when BB hadn't.
Beyond now had to prove himself as better than both L and Kira.
He suddenly found himself smirking a bit oddly.
This was a challenge he would never wish to pass up...
Additional comments: B has dark brown eyes, not red. The red eyes in all of the artwork of him simply gives a visual representation of his shinigami eyes. He is also Japanese, but tends to try and cover up those features with make up and try to make himself look as much like L as possible. That, though, is quite hard to do without surgery, so his Japanese features tend to still show quite dominantly. Also, this journal is not the one I plan to use here. I didn't want to make a journal until absolutely sure I'd be accepted. I hope that's okay!
